What is a podcast?

A podcast is a digital multimedia (e.g. music, video) that is distributed over the Internet for playback on portable media players such as the iPod and personal computers. Unlike traditional downloads (such as downloads from the 'Sermons' link), podcasting is an automatic mechanism whereby multimedia files are transferred from a source to a user. The user needs to subscribe (usually free) to receive this automatic 'feed' of the multimedia file using suitable software. iTunes is one such software. You can also listen to or download a podcast through an RSS-enabled (Really Simple Syndication) Web browser such as the Internet Explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox 2.

(If you wish to listen to the sermons as traditional downloads, click on the ‘Sermons’ link on the navigation bar at the top of this page). You'll need iTunes installed on your computer if you wish to access sermons as podcasts from iTunes. iTunes can be downloaded from this link.
