How to Effectively Reach a Child

Three areas of focus for deliberate, effective ministry to children in their early years:

Positively Connect a Child’s World to God

A connection between a person’s surroundings and the Lord can serve as a strong starting point to reach someone to whom God seems unknown. To that end, create an association between kids’ sensory experiences and God.

Clearly Communicate God’s Truth and Love

Verbally communicate God’s truth and love in tiny, bite-sized pieces through simple thoughts, plain words, and short sentences.

Actively Reinforce the Message

In addition to spoken words, actions and other nonverbal communication play key roles in introducing kids to God.
